Student Lorna McCann, a final year student from the Lincoln University conservation course, has completed her 6 week placement with the Centre. During her time with us she took part in a dying project day, a visit to the Rolls Royce Enthusiasts’ Club, a survey on site and has completed a number of conservation projects in the laboratory, one of which she has chosen to use for her dissertation.
The Leather Conservation Centre has been featured on the History Detectives on BBC2 recently. A film crew came to the Centre to find out more about a rare pair of fine leather gloves in a walnut shell. The BBC Northampton also came to the LCC to interview us about our work, and this piece went out on the Breakfast Show the day before the BBC2 appearance.
