Our team

Rosie Bolton is Head of Centre at the LCC, and has worked at the cutting edge of leather conservation for over a decade. She is currently the coordinator of the International Council of Museums Committee for Conservation (ICOM CC) Leather working group, and co-editor of the soon to be published second edition of the seminal textbook ’The Conservation of Leather, Skin and Related Materials (Routledge, 2026).

She has extensive experience of working with leather both historic and modern for a catalogue of clients including both renowned heritage institutions and private clients of all backgrounds, and a strong craft background, having trained in traditional fine bookbinding following her degree in Fine Art.

Arianne gained an MA in Principles of Conservation from University College London (UCL) and an MSc in Conservation Studies from UCL Qatar. She undertook internships at the Museum of Anthropology in Vancouver and the Ethnologisches Museum in Berlin specialising in organic materials. Following this Arianne held several positions in the Gulf region including at the National Museum of Qatar. She has been a full-time member of the LCC since the beginning of 2020.

Arianne is currently Chair of the ALG (Archaeological Leather Group).

After completing a HND Business and Finance at the University of Northampton, Cyd then went on to gain an AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting. She has worked at the Leather Conservation Centre since 2015 as our Accounts Administrator, then progressed to the Office and Finance Manager.

William has been a trustee at the Leather Conservation Centre for 7 years, and has been the Chairman since February 2019. He is an alumni of the Institute for Creative Leather Technologies at the University of Northampton and has spent 45 years in the leather business making and selling leather goods, and producing leather bags for Tusting.

After graduating with a First in Fine Art from DMU, Beth completed an MA in Art Museum and Gallery Studies at the University of Leicester with Distinction where her research focused on inclusivity and representation within UK museums and galleries. She has gained experience across collections, research, and public engagement at Kettle’s Yard, Leicester Museum, and worked as an Exhibition Ambassador at the 2024 Venice Biennale (Venice Fellowship Programme).

Beth joined the Leather Conservation Centre in 2025 as Outreach and Engagement Coordinator, where she coordinates the events programme and develops partnerships with arts organisations to connect wider audiences with the Centre’s work in conservation, heritage, research and craft.

Phoebe Ignatia is an Objects & Textiles Conservator with experience working in both the UK and Australia. She holds a master’s degree in Cultural Materials Conservation from the University of Melbourne.

She has worked on preventive and interventive conservation of costume, accessories, historic textiles, contemporary social history and First Nations Australian heritage. Phoebe has a particular interest in synthetic and polymer materials, including their integration in composite objects – a focus developed in her minor thesis on plastics in textile collections.

She values collaboration, ethical practice, and sustainability in her work. Phoebe is also committed to sharing conservation knowledge through outreach, documentation, and partnering with stakeholders to ensure that treatments and care practices meet the ethical framework of the community of origin.
